7 POT BRAIN STRAIN
The Brain Strain, where do they come up with these names, characterized by its bumpy/wavy skin that closely resembles a human brain. This pepper not only looks like a brain, but it will also set yours on FIRE! This pepper has insane heat! This pepper, although a 7 Pot, looks very similar to the Moruga Scorpion with slightly more wavy skin.
The 7 Pot Brain Strain is a variety of the 7 Pot chili created by a chili grower named David Capiello in North Carolina in 2010. This is a variety that was developed using selective breeding by saving pods from plants that would produce the desired traits. Not a Hybrid as a Hybrid is crossing varieties. Over 5 years ago (2010) David Capiello a well-known grower and chile hobbyist from North Carolina obtained 7 Pot seeds from another grower in Trinidad known as Sara. Sara is responsible for getting many Trinidad varieties to spread all over the world. David selected pods with the desired traits that Moruga Scorpions have which is a lumpy grainy texture like the human brain. He named these Brain Strain.
